Looking for a swimbait Rod

Featured Replies

Looking for some help with picking out a swimbait Rod.  My specs are:  7.5 feet long.   Rated for at least 2oz and in the $120 price range.  I also like a full cork handle if possible.  So far I'm looking at:

dobyns fury

***

st croix bass x

Powell inferno

okuma

Thanks in advance for the help

I really like my Okuma, but they're not full handles.

The Dobyn's Fury 795 is rated up to 5oz, but the one I have fishes 1-3oz baits really nice, I wouldn't go much over that though.

I picked up a BPS BionicBlade. 7'6" 1-4oz MF rod for about $100.00. It has a full cork handle also.

I neglected to mention the BPS Rod.   I'll be near bass pro today so will have to take a look

The Daiwa DX if full cork, but an 8 footer. Fantastic rod for the $ at $109.00.

I have the okuma (H) and like it. I'd say it's more like a 3/4 - 4oz rod rather than the 1 - 6 they claim but if you're just looking to throw smaller swimbaits it's good for the money.

That Rod looks great!!   The length scares me a little but it must cast a mile.

You will really appreciate it if you have to set the hook with the bait way out there.

Buddy of mine just talked me into the Daiwa DX SB 8' XH and man is it sweet! You won't regret it i think. And it can be had for under $90 new on eBay right now!
