Skeg guard.

Featured Replies

New boat. Is a skeg guard a good idea ? If so which type through bolt or adhesive ? Stainless steel or composite ?.

The skeg is sacrificial, and meant to protect your prop.  Do you think you need another layer of protection?  I don't think I've ever seen a skeg guard at the ramp.

Skeg guards are mostly used after skeg damage as an alternative to having the skeg repaired by replacement or welding.

No, but a stainless steel skeg IS a good idea

I just recently replaced my aluminum skeg with a stainless skeg to protect my stainless prop.
