Early morning bass fishing in the spring

Featured Replies

I am on chickamauaga lake and going  fishing in the morning. The water temperature is right at or a little below 70. What depths and areas/ structures should I target for largemouths? Also, what top water bait would be good, or should I he throwing top water at all?

Try a double bladed buzz bait. Hold your rod high and go as slow as it will go. Use a trailer hook. Swap the blades so the bubbles are on the inside. Lean your head to one side and grin but not too much. Really this works. Have fun and post pics.

Buzzbaits and poppers are usually the first 2 topwaters that start working for me each season.

Whopper Plopper or a good ole popper. Three pops and a pause, love the topwater strikes, exhilarating!!

Yellow Majic put 3 of my 5 fish in the boat in Thursdays tourney on Fork and u missed one on it.

Use Tiny & Baby Torpedos. Never fail to get strikes & fish. Use Chug bugs small & large sizes -- viscous strikes. Use Zara Puppy & Zara Spook to walk the dog for strikes that can scare you. Use Devil's Horse for slow teasing presentation. Use buzzbait for aggressive bass.

To each his own.
