P-LINE Tactical Fluorocarbon

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I've been using the new P-Line Tactical Fluorocarbon for the last month and have to say that so far this is very good line. I've always been a Seaguar fluoro guy but i wouldn't be afraid to change to this at all. It is very limp and strong. Haven't had any issues with it on 3 different setups. And they had a sale going on in April buy one get one free to get it out on the market. So far very impressed.

I have to agree with you.  I like it a lot.

I have been running the 15 and 17lb. on my Chronarch MGL's for about 2 months now. I've bought 6 more spools of it because of the sale and it seemed to be performing pretty well thus far. After spending a fair bit of time with it, I will say that it's a bit stiffer than my Sniper FC that I normally run, but it's still manageable with the help of some KVD L&L conditioner. The diameter of this stuff is a fair bit thicker when compared to Sniper FC. The 20lb. Sniper FC is a smaller diameter than the Tactical 17lb. This factor alone is probably why I find it a bit stiffer.

Overall, I've had no issues with break offs or knot tying. It's certainly a great deal at the BOGO deal.

If you are happy with it, I see no reason to change.

It  is not my cup of tea, but who cares!

Agreed...I got a couple of spools with the promotion going on..I use Pline fluro on my other reels...I thought it was just me but I did not care for it at all...I actually spooled up 3 reels and took it all off after using it a couple of times...I found it knotted up real easy...could also be user error....I'll stick with the regular pline or seagaur red

How’s the 6lb? Anyone tried it on a med-light spinning setup?

I have a spool already and Im considering it to replace the 8lb invizx for dropshoting and weightless plastics

Just bought a spool of this in 17lb to try out for the spring.

Have fished it a couple times and so far I think the only downside is that is abrades more easily when fishing around rocks, as compared to Seguar AbrazX. Other than that I do like it, as that isn't really a huge deal since I tend to re-tie my knots fairly often when fishing around rocks anyway.

Knot it strength is very good, (bent out the hook and bent the blade pulling on a stuck chatterbait), cast-ability is very good, sensitivity is very good. I tend to fish cover and murky/stained water more than clear/open water so line visibility isn't as big a problem for me as it may be for other people, but I will say even the thick 17lb line is not easy to see in the water.

Ive also bought some P-Line XTCB in 65lb green flavor, and will be giving that a try for frogging and punching vegetation.
