Short jerkbait rods: expride vs orochi xxx
I’m looking to get a good jerkbait rod in the 6’6 range for wading. Can anyone compare the 6’6 expride A with the jdm 6’5 orochi xxx for ½ oz jerkbait fishing?

150 size versus 200 size BC reel line capacity
You really don’t need over 100yrds. A 40yard cast is a bomb. The bigger issue is line size. It’s difficult to cast heavy mono from a small reel.

Cold water speed cranking
5.7 last week burning a chrome lipless. “Hunting” divers are a different animal... but fast is fast. LOL They suggested it pulled bites like and a-rig. I think that was a mistake. Just not possible. It’s a crank. I’m sure it’s good. I ordered 4. But that’s just over selling

Initial Thoughts: Review of Teckel Sprinker Frog vs. Booyah Toad Runner vs. Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog
Teckel doesn’t even plop. It wags. LOL I don’t know why people call it a weedless plopper. It’s not. BUT... cut the tail off a rage shad and replace that dumb boot. Plops loud.

Summer / Fall Transition
Colder denser water has more O2. - Marine biology major in college. LOL

Maryland's Who's who!
Canal?

Summer / Fall Transition
False. The deeper colder water is O2 rich. The turnover increases o2 throughout the water column. Fishing May be depressed during this period but not for this reason. More likely increased turbidity reduces feeding.

Anyone go leaderless?
Yep. Because it’s hard to describe. Most experienced fisherman just say they hate braid and leave it at that. LOL. But what pro uses braid leader for anything but spinning and Topwater? Not a single one By wrong I mean using brakes not thumbing. Most high level angles don’t use breaks at all.

Has the senko replaced the fluke?
They’re for different things. Flukes have less action but spiral like dying Shad... For colder weather. Senkos just get bit. LOL. If it’s not early prespawn or late fall and your fishing shallow go senko
-
Anyone go leaderless?
If you know how to cast right braid is harder to prevent backlash’s with than anything else

Anyone go leaderless?
When I have to yea but bites definitely decline. I think they sense the vibrations from it. Finesse it works fine.

Maryland's Who's who!
They’re biting. What area are you in?

Maryland's Who's who!
It hasn’t recovered yet. Biggest bass are shy of 3lb. There’s a ton of big carp tho.

Jerry rigging chatters
NP happy to share. The spinners I got one of those 5 packs for $3 on ebay. LOL works perfectly well. Blades I’ve only tried 2 or 3 kinds. So far the hexagonal “shakee” blades with bubbler holes from jans Netcraft were marginally better than an eBay 50 pk. The lighter the blade the better. They all work tho. Very versatile ...I was surprised this one actually works well. Finally found a use for the 4” storms. LOL

Nice. I like that yellow perchie skirt. Decoy makes good small ones for sure. The 34lb size would work perfectly

Initial Thoughts: Review of Teckel Sprinker Frog vs. Booyah Toad Runner vs. Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog
I’m not a fan of these frogs tbh but they are weedless. Swivels behind the body and small. ?♂️ my issue is they just don’t “plop” that well. Neither do savage gear frog plopper trailers. I get better action adding a rage Shad tail. Or just use a rage Shad. LOL

Shimano Curado DC PROBLEMS
It’s a issue for FC. Braids so easy to cast I don’t need the DC. BUT I have braid on now anyways because of the thumb bar issue

Spinnerbaits work really well surprisingly. I get 30% or so more bites with the blade stuck out an inch or two ahead.
