Skip Gap Hook
What size centerpin hooks work best with 3.5” tubes?

Maryland's Who's who!
6&6.6 Ugly stick. No need to spend a ton on heavy rods, imo

Latest Color Research (Bass Vision)
Just curious how this squares with the assertion that essentially they ‘switch’ to monochromatic vision at night..?

190 whopper plopper...?
Matt Allen says they have a place in LM bass fishing...so I got one. It's huge! Lol When/where is the time to use this monster?

Maryland's Who's who!
Screwed up how? Fish don't mind rain.

Beavers In Ponds
Lol. Otters slap even louder than beavers. They roam away from rivers and hop from pond to pond killing the biggest fish. Vermin sobs.

Beavers In Ponds
LOL. I believe you. Otters slap water just the same tho.

Beavers In Ponds
Or it’s an otter. Pretty similar looking.

What type of bass is this??
Forget the jaw unless your dissecting them. It’s easy to tell SM from LM by color/PATTERN. Spots a different story. Only way to tell is count fin spurs.

Beavers In Ponds
Mostly they provide structure. Your major problems are not the beavers. That sounds like you need inflow and good filtration to get started. Also runoff is probably what’s causing the rusty color. Sure up the bank with rip rap or dig a trench around it.

A rare insight into crankbait fishing
Apologies I was unclear but was referring to lipless cranks. Given Tho there are still subtle differences.

Make Your Own Simple, Inexpensive Blade Baits
I’ve done this with double hooks. The ones with non fused center bends so can be used without a split ring also. They work on the tails of plugs pretty well too.

Latest Color Research (Bass Vision)
Too late! Lol I'm taking the opposite approach. Red-orange, greens, black, white. Fish more, carry less. Citation please? (Author, date) Just a good habit to be in when presenting research.

Lure knocker/retriever
Other thing you can try is just cut bait and tie a bobber or float or even a soda bottle on and just let the current bring it up or come back for it later.

Maryland's Who's who!
Good to know! Greenbelt not as good? I'm sure I'll see you there at some point. Whats the biggest one you've seen come out of there? Artemesia I mean
-
Maryland's Who's who!
the rivers are the place to be. They warm up faster. It'd a VERY slow spring this year. Is Artemesia good? I live nearby but never went. Assumed very high pressure. Very nice! That tail... Was she on a bed?

Best tube jig/rig for bedding LM?
So many ways to rig a tube. What are your spawn selections? Jig(style of)? Stupid tube? Texas rig? Etc. Thx!

Lure knocker/retriever
They work. You have to pop the kocker up and over on semi-slack line and move laterally to then pull the retriever back. With the cbeaner thing which is sort of a kocker but not exactly the same, I get stuff free from shore 90% of the time The bow snap technique works really well Glenn. Thanks for that one!

Another Hi-Vis braid thread.
Just FYI, the rating is for mono but You don't have to match rod weight rating to your line. No one's rod is 65lb rated, but they use it for topwater etc.

Lure knocker/retriever
..but because it’s as wide an opening as it is it slips over most lures and lands right on the stuck hook. Works great
-
Lure knocker/retriever
Yea I’ve already fallen asleep in my tube. Lol Thanks. I tried several ways most involving chains and weights. The cbeaner was an on-the-water inspiration. To my knowledge, no one else has thought of it.

Can a 100+ ft, 50 acre, 100yr old quarry..,
...are glidebaits effective in the pre-spawn to spawn?
-
Lure knocker/retriever
All you need is a carabeaner or 2 and rope. They weigh about 5 ounces and are cheap. I Tie two together and wrap a nylon cord around each. That way it’s a good 60ft. Or could just put On snap ring and use a 2nd rod You tube? Nice. I just got one myself. Seems perfect for small waters

Can a 100+ ft, 50 acre, 100yr old quarry..,
Check, check, check. Lol Got 8” storms, s-waver 168-200 and just too many big topwater baits to List. 9 whopper ploppers alone, up to the 190 size. Haven’t figured out when to use that one yet. Lol
