Any of you seasoned anglers that fish a lot get tendon pain in your trolling motor foot? Any cures or tips on foot control placement would be great. It's getting bad enough to keep me off the water lately. Like tennis elbow in the top of my foot.

I haven't had that yet. I would suggest getting a recessed tray installed to help a little. Just curious, but what trolling motor are you running?

Replacing your pedestal stand up seat with a sit down seat will take the pressure off your legs and feet. Standing on one leg for several hours takes a lot of practice and strength with or without a recessed foot pedal.

The newer spot lock models help!

I was thinking of a hand control. Makes sense for several reasons; less clutter on the deck, lower price, less things to go bad.

What model do you use?

Check with your doctor.  Pain is a body symptom that something is wrong.

On my last boat I had a Motorguide hand control trolling motor and two little foot switches mounted on the deck.  T&H Marine makes both items.

It is hard to tell in this picture, but the foot switches have a lock bar on them in case you want to slowly move down a bank or something. This means you can move the boat without having to keep your foot in one position the entire time.
