Yo Zuri 3db jerkbait

Featured Replies

I'm considering purchasing this lure but I need a shallow running jerkbait. Some websites say it runs 0-2 feet deep. Others say 3 feet. Anyone have personal experience of how deep it dives? Thanks.

All depends on type of line and it's diameter...by running heavier mini u can get a bait to shallow up quite a bit

I haven't tried that specific jerkbait, but I imagine you can make it stay in the 1ft range by jerking the rod tip up instead of down or horizontal. I can make a 3-5' depth jerkbait stay in about 1-2' of water by doing that.

Taking off the 0 ring and tying direct is often enough to keep the nose up

It definitely runs deeper than a foot. Closer to 3. Obviously as stated, you can manipulate that. It's a really productive jerkbait. Has been for me anyways.

The Lucky Craft Spazz is what I use when I need a shallow running jerkbait.

I love that bait!!!!! On 10# line it will run about 2', I have 6 of them and they are all consistent. I imagine if you use say 8# fluorocarbon you can get it closer to 3' but I use 10# mono and it keeps it right around the 2' depth.

My favorite shallow running jerkbaits are LC Pointer SR and a floating Rogue.

Thanks for the replies. I definitely need one that runs shallower. Now I am thinking about the Damiki Slim Jack or maybe sanding down the lip of a jerkbait I already have.
