I had this great idea to modify my single blade spinnerbait by doubling up the blades.  One colorado and one willow (concave sides face to face). 

 

 

 

I thought it would have the "thump" of the colorado and the flash of the willow.  But when I tried it, there was less vibration than the single colorado. 

Great Idea, but didn't work.  The fish didn't think it was a great idea either!  LOL.

There are two ways to look at this:

 

1) Your great idea is actually a terrible idea.

 

b. Your great idea requires taking into account the physical interference between the blades, and once addressed the possible effects of constructive or destructive interference between the resonance of each blade on the desired outcome. Science Mr White!

They do this on inline spinners for muskie and it works just the blades are alot larger but if one was to shrink it down for bass i dont know why it qouldnt qork.  But qhen was the lasr timw u seensomeone using an inline spinner for bass

Use a three way  swivel . 

 

Try it again with the Colorado blade on the outside and the concave facing the same way. It spins in a wider spiral than the willow blade. Worth a try.

Mister Twister use to make a spinnerbait with a three way swivel . I have one somewhere . Two blades are attached and it creates a lot of drag . A  willow and Colorado could be used . I'll get a picture if I find it .

You're actually on the right track @BASS302. Here's spinnerbait I made a few years ago when I was actually making an inline spinner. It can be made using a typical spinnerbait head. Put 2 blades on separate clevis' and interlock them making sure the blades oppose each other. I love fishing this bait.

 

The reason why you're not getting more thump is because the blades actually cancel each other out. Check out what different blades sound like under water: https://www.mepps.com/resources/lure-sounds/

 

The double blade configuration actually makes a whir sound underwater. Something a bass doesn't hear a lot.

I use inline spinners frequently for river smallmouth. Lots of people do. On inline, double blade spinners, each blade has its own clevis.

I like your "contraption"!  I'll have to try out your suggestion.  I have almost as fun trying out different ideas as I do catching fish.

@BASS302, while you're flirting around with spinnerbaits, here's a mod to a spoon you'd probably like. I believe Daredevil did it years ago and I don't see them any more, but how about a Lil Cleo with a buzz blade? You'll love fishing this:

So is the Ike molix or this terminator essentially the same concept .. should I change one of the blades out
