Today I got my first boat ever.  She's not pretty, she's not new but she's mine and she floats!

I got a 1957 Richliner, 14 foot alum. boat.  She came with a Eagle Cuda 128 fish finder, an OLD Shakespeare wonder troll, trolling motor with battery and battery box, oars, 2 ankers and a trailer for the wopping price of $400 dollars.  

I'm going to spend the rest of the winter building decks on the front and back with storage underneath.

I'm really excited about this!  I started fishing again 2 years ago and now, I'm hooked.

I don't know what size boat this is, but if it has oars, I'm guessing it's pretty small.  Before you start making decks and stuff in that vessel of yours.  Make sure you know how much weight it can hold so that it's still stable to fish out of.

it's a 14 foot V hul and wider than a jon boat.  It should be fine.  I'll be using the benches as the sub floor so that should stableize it pretty well and keep a lower center of gravity for it too.

It should work just fine. I have a 14 foot starcraft V hull that had a floor in it, but front and rear bench seat. I build front and rear decks using the seats as the frame work and it worked out fine. The  boat is very stable. good luck and have fun.

I'll take some Mon. when I go back to work.  I left it in my parking lot at work (On a military base so she's safe).  Right now there's too much snow on the ground for me to get it behind my house where I want to keep it.  I'm going to wait till the snow starts getting gone and then I'll start the work on it.  But yes it's a 57 Richline.  The guy before me Hurkulined (sp) the hull because it leaked, say's it water tight now thou!  LOL

I thought I was cool with a '63,...I want to see the '57!!!

How cool is that?  Congratulations on the boat, I'd love to see the final project!

Make it happen man, take a lot of pictures during the whole process. It's amazing how you can make it look!

You've got a good base to work with.  Some flat floors, carpet, seats and some good paint and you'll be stylin' in no time!  Good luck with her, PM me if you have any questions.

Where do you plan on putting it on the water? I grew up north of Sedalia MO but am drawing a blank on small bodies of water in that area.

Turkey Kearn is just a few miles from here, then there are other small lakes like that scattered all over the place around here.

If you ever get back over this way, let me know and we can get some lines wet!
