Got My Boat Today!!!!

Featured Replies

A Lowe 160W.

It performed beyond my expectations on the test run.

This is a 2005 and is the last year of the outstanding hull design in this series from Lowe.

It absorbs bumps like a fiberglass hull and does not skip or wallow when cornering at high speed.

The trim worked flawlessly.

Plus the 50 hp Evinrude E-Tec motor as an added bonus.

Now parked in the driveway!

I am on cloud nine!

THANK YOU ALL for the advice and help!

It's beautiful, but it is too clean.

You need to take it out and get it all dirty.

Seriously, you may want to get some aluminum cleaner for the hull to clean it from time to time during the summer.  It brings the shine back like she was new.

I also use a Bissell carpet cleaning machine to keep the carpet somewhat clean.

I like your boat because it is light and you can go places the bigger, glass boats cannot.  So get ready to get into some trees and brush and stumps and other stuff this summer and have a great time.

I use a push pole after raising up the motor out of the water to get into the brush.  A push pole is a valuable tool to have on board.

And one more thing, be sure to go to your Game and Fisheries web site and find out what safety items you need on your boat.  I have been stopped by the Game Wardens and they told me that I was the first boat they stopped in over three months that had all the safety equipment that is mandated by the state.

Have fun once the weather gets warmer.

Glad to see you liked it.  It is a nice looking rig.

Now start shopping for bigger outboards.

I have a 2001 170W w/ an Evinrude 90 on it. Every person who has been in it with me has been impressed with the ride and handling, even guys who own 20+ ft. glass rigs. Why they changed the hull design is beyond me.

congrats!!!!!!

making me want to untarp mine an break sum ice to go for a ride lol.

Nice rig.  You will absolutely love it.  Nothing more fun then getting the new rig out on the water and fishing.  Life is all good when that happens.  Have fun with it.

SWEET now when are we going fishing?

Nice boat.  I've got one of the older Lowe 150's.  If you don't mind my asking how much did it cost because I've been wanting to upgrade to something a little bigger and with a larger outboard.

Nice boat.  I've got one of the older Lowe 150's.  If you don't mind my asking how much did it cost because I've been wanting to upgrade to something a little bigger and with a larger outboard.

I paid $11,995 for boat and trailer.

Out the door it came to $13,051 and change.

This was a hold-over 2005 new boat, at a dealership, I found.

As I find out about this boat I am more and more thrilled with the pre-2006 Lowe hull and the Evinrude E-Tec 2-stroke .

It handles very well in the rough and turns. It absorbs bumps much like fiberglass hulls and rides like an 18 footer.

Granted it is not as wide as the later hulls but the way this boat planes and flys over chop, I would not trade it.

Here is some shots of the V in the hull.
