Triton vs. Ranger

Featured Replies

I would like to know the positive and negatives of the new Triton 20X2's vs. Ranger Z-series boats.

I have narrowed my search down to those to boats because of what I fish.  I'm leaning towards purchasing a new Triton 20X2 DC because I fish the ABA and BASS events.  Is that the best way to go just because of the contingency money?

I know all other boats are comparable, but like I said, I narrowed my search down to these two boats.

Thanks in advance.

For me, it came down to perceived quality.  The Ranger is a great boat.  It APPEARS to be better made and the finish is nicer in my opinion.

Let the flames begin.

I love the look of the Z-series.  We've chatted about this Redline in your Z22 thread but for what I fish.  I think the Triton is the right fit.  If I fished more FLW events... BFL, STREN, FLW, then I would lean towards Ranger for sure.

Sounds to me your mind is already made up?

Nothing wrong with Triton so roll with it

If I were to get back into tournament fishing contingency would be a huge factor; if one is to tournament fish why not make all the money you can.

If it doesn't matter to you stick with the main sponcers of the series you will be fishing.

Sounds good.  Just wanted to make sure that was the right course of action.

IMHO, the Triton rides better has a drier ride.  Not putting down a Ranger they are both great boats.  I have a 21x and love it.

If you buy a Triton get the Bass Classic Package.

I own a Triton, but with being a Co-Angler in the Michigan BFL's...I have found that BASSCAT's run a lot smoother on the big waters.  My list of comfort for the waves goes like this...I also need to let you know that I have a bad back and neck problems....so for me the smoother the better:

Tritons and Rangers are fine.

Others are great.

All have strong points and weak.

Ride and decide.

Get the Triton Cabela.   I'll go visit you and we can fish in your boat.  When you come to CA I'll take you out in the Z22.   :)
