Greetings From Western PA

Featured Replies

Long time weekend fisherman who is starting to take it a little more seriously now. Anyone getting any bites in Western PA? Been getting back into it now with my son who's taken a big interest in fishing and we've been mainly fishing the Kiski River (between Leechburg and Vandergrift). Pulled a few bass out of there the other night. Nothing special, one was around 15".

Finding bank fishing hard. I miss my boat.

Welcome to BR. I used to live near Duncannon PA. The furthest west I fished was Joseph Sayers Lake and once I fished Lake Erie.  Good Luck and you will find a lot of general knowledge here so do some surfin around the board.

Another yinzer. Welcome!

The big girls are still biting around here. Caught this one last week.

Drop in to "Bass Fishing North East forum and say hello. I personally like to try and fish with other members. So try this check in  on that forum and ask who lives out your way. Tell them you are looking for info on the area and perhaps walk a banlk together.

Haha. Yinzer indeed! Where did you pull that one out at, the Kiski?

I can't give out my spots, but I'll tell you that I don't fish any rivers.

Hello and welcome aboard HookInMouth! I'm a bank fisherman also and I agree, bank fishing is pretty hard. Especially around here where I live. Most of the lakes surely have good fishing in them, but they don't have really good accessible banks to fish from. It would be nice if the LDWF or whoever is responsible for any upkeep of the lakes to make the banks more accessible. It's almost like they're catering only to fisherman with boats or something. Not all fisherman can afford a boat or have access to one.
