Anyone "stitching" for big bass

15 years ago or so I tried stitching for a season. The main reason I fish is to have a good (fish catching) time and enjoy the outdoors. Stitching tended to lean more towards the later. Stitching certainly is not fun! :)

Fascinating book and fascinating conversations.  Tom, very good to get some clarity from someone who was/is there.  I fished near SD once in a rez.  Don't remember the name.  Absolutely the opposite of where I fish in MS with mostly shallow muddy water with a lot of plants. However I still think a lot of this applies.  Woild you modify and use a worm with appendages?

Tinkering with lures is a big part of bass fishing because the bass will strike a wide variety of lures. Mister Twister made a Sintepede worm with multiple appendages (curl tails) on both side in the mid 70's, I believe 6" and 8" as I recall. The motor oil 8" was popular until it went off the market.

Don Iovino, marketed a Wormizer worm welder that was AA battery operated and you could melt worms together or add appendages. We would often weld various worms together like 2 Sintepdes for a 10" to 12" worm. Try whatever you feel may work.

Thank you so much for this!! I remember watching a TV show and they were welding plastics back together.

Never saw it again and my searching for the tool came up with nothing.

I do this in my garage with a wood burning tool to repair baits and have created some Frankenstein baits too.

Now I can do this on the water if I am running short on baits or a specific size/profile is wanted that day.
