a quick "hello"....

Featured Replies

Just wanted to drop a quick "hello" here as a new forum member.  Ive been fishing for nearly 25 years now; mostly trout (fly fishing and spinning tackle).   Just recently bought a Tracker Pro Guide V16 boat to take my father out on some fishing adventures.  Half day drives and hiking around up in the Sierras is getting to be too difficult for him, so I figured its time to relax and enjoy a boat.  This has obviously opened to door to bass fishing.  On this subject, I'm most definitely a novice!  However, I'll be reading all your posts, researching old threads and hopefully soaking up a lot of valuable information from this site.  Just picked up my first baitcaster set-up this week.  Grabbed myself a 7' St Croix Premier MH/M rod and a Daiwa Tatula Type R (6.3:1) reel.  Figured this would get me going on some crank/jerkbait fishing.  I already have an arsenal of spinning gear in the garage.  I figure I can get away with using my GL2  6.6' MH/F or my St Croix Premier 6.6' ML/F  spinning rig for some light top water jerkbait/popper action, possibly even for tossing some texas rig Senkos around too.  I'm sure I'll learn soon enough what works for me and what doesn't.  Anyhow, looking forward to chatting with a few of you here and there.  Have a great weekend fellas!
