Well, that's new. Eye felt a small, quick resistance, and then...

That's a first. I've caught scales, but never an eye

That's pretty interesting.  I once caught a 5 lb pike with a perch eye stuck in its teeth, but never caught one like that.

Looks like he saw it coming.

Here's looking at you kid.

It must have been a walleye.

I caught 2 3.5lbers today off a square bill by hooking them from the outside right between their eyes. Was very odd. Bite felt normal, set the hook, reel them in and hook is between the eyes. Very odd. A first for me.

Nevermind...

It was a weird day in general. I also caught a dink by the belly on the same trap. Like, how?

Magic lure.

Over the years I have caught several in the eye ball.  The loss of the eye doesn't mean they can't be successful hunters.  I have also caught bass that had a missing eye ball from an old injury.  If it happens to you, leave the meat on the hook.  It gives off sent, and some flavor on the bite.

Would that be considered "lieyeve bait"?

Well one thing is for sure, that fish never took its eye off the bait...lmbo! ?

I was trout fishing a large pool I found, and couldn't quite get my fly to the bottom of the cascade,  so I tied on a huge inline spinner to to a 7' medium fast that I had with me. First cast perfect shot, felt the bite and set it like it was a LM on a senko......whoops. All I got a was a large trout eyeball.... Would've been the best fish of the trip too
