Welcome to BR.

You are comparing a very high end round reel in the Conquest vs  mid range low profile reel with the Tranx. The Tranx is Shimano's next generation Curado 300E low profile 300 size fresh/salt water reel. A better comparison might be the Shimano Calcutta D series round reel, nearer to the price point.

You don't Palm 300 size round or low profile reels casting or retreiving big swimbaits, no adavantage for a low profile reel other than personal preference.

my vote is the Calcutta D or Conquest if it's within your budget.

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~

I echo @WRB.  While I do not have the Tranx or Conquest, I do have & fish the Calcutta 300D quite a bit.

I am a round reel fan and I've love this one from the first time I held it.

btw - TW has a Demo program where you can 'test run' reels for a week for the nominal cost of shipping.

I did it with the 300D and eventually ended up purchasing one.

Right choice! An AMAZING reel for big swimbaits. Get the 300 if you just do freshwater or the 400 if you need more line for the salt.
