Nichols Spinnerbaits

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried the Nicholslures’s spinnerbaits? If so, do they have good quality components? Looking at ordering a couple, there colors look amazing!

Nichols makes excellent spinnerbaits, I think I currently own around 35 of them. Great colors, good components and excellent customer service. Get some, you'll like them

What are some of your favourite colors?

You can't really go wrong, but bombshell shad, bluegill, green crystal, shad spawn, and florida hammer to name a few.

Nichols makes a fantastic spinnerbait. Top quality components and they really do hold up well. I still have a large number of them that are well over 10 years old. I generally order them directly off of the Nichols website. You can even order replacement skirts and blades from them. The number of blade/skirt combos available is staggering, but my all time favorite is 1/2 oz. green crystal with 44mag double willows. The #4 willows give you a small presentation for clear water and the 1/2 oz. head lets you cast it a mile.

Do you use the nickel blades in the clear water?

Kevin Vandam started his pro bass career using Nichols spinnerbaits before becoming a Strike King sponsored pro. Nichols has been around a long time, originally owned and operated by Dave Nichols. I use Nichols spinner baits that are over 20 years old with holographic blades that are still going strong because they are made with high quality components.

In clear water I will use the nickel blades or the metal flake nickel blades that Nichols offers.

They're my favorite. In addition to being super durable, they're the only spinnerbaits I've found that run true when you burn them. For smallies, I like double willow, all chartreuse and all white.

i recall a cloudy, blustery day on Lake Norman in early April of 94 when i caught over 20 LM, 2 stripers, and a 10 lb blue cat on a Nichols Pulsator....until the big cat wadded it up like a paper clip. ?

On the website, I found a crystal nickel green, a crystal green shad and a green nickel shad. Which is the one you like for the really clear water? Thanks

Must have used every brand on the market, starting with Dixie Dancer. Finally settled on Nichols and never looked back. Top notch materials and construction. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Nichols are legit. Way better than most spinner baits on the market
