Hi, I'm in the market for a punching rod but have a few restrictions. I'm looking to spend somewhere around the $100 range and also can be much over 7' due to transportation reasons, any recommendations? Thank you in advance

Do you have a Bass Pro Shops nearby? Their Bionic Blade 7'6" heavy makes a great punching rod, the rod telescopes down just above the reel seat for easy transport. I don't know the exact length it goes down to but it's under 7' 

We moderators started testing the Okuma EVX series this past summer and fall, and these are very nice rods for the money.  The Okuma EVX Casting Rod 7'2" Heavy would fit your needs.

My rod for that is an Abu Garcia 7 ft Veritas Hvy. They run somewhere in that range.

Don't know if i would go shorter. I suppose a 7'2" H might work if it had the right action.

Fiber is far and away the best $100 series of rods I've fished. Great choice!
