Best time to get sales

Featured Replies

When’s the most stuff like rods, reels, line, and tackle on sale? All the major companies such as Cabela’s, Bass Pro, TW, Scheel’s...

End of November (Black Friday) through the 1st of the year.

Cabela's rotates stuff through their bargain bin, frequently.

I love their Tourney Trail/Pflueger combos, and Arachnid BC reels (rebranded Daiwa Tatula's Type-R's) at the bargain bin prices.

Sign up for Dick's promo emails, they send out 20% off 1 day in store promos, or $10 off $50 emails quite frequently.

I would say, the ultimate discount is to buy a large Tacklewarehouse gift certificate when they are 10% off, then save it for the 20% off TW Black Friday deal.

Dicks and Walmart typically puts their lures/rods on clearance around end of Feb/March before the new stuff comes in.

Now. BPS and other retailers are having their winter sales this week and into the weekend.

I tend to wait until First week of Feb to check out Walmart.

Made a huge killing on seaguar red label and yo-zuri lines.

It was like 1.50 a box and I just grabbed as much as I can :)

Black Friday is the best but they will have sales on most major holidays.

We had an Academy move close to me within the last few years. Last year they had huge deals after Christmas. Sometimes 50-60% off. And it was all good stuff too. Ive Checked a few times since Christmas and there have been little to no deals there. It seems pretty hard to predict.
