Warming trend and steady bite

Featured Replies

Wednesday it was around 75 degrees here with a 70 degree day on Tuesday. Tuesday fishing was slow with one fish. Hit a different lake on Wednesday and action was much better. The swimbait bite was on and landed 16 bass 5 pickerel and a catfish. Caught my pb from this lake at 6lbs. The catfish weighed 4lbs but felt like something in the 10lb class.

4lbs is a monster considering your catfish is a bullhead.

Congratulations on the PB!   Sounds like a nice day of fishing.

Nice! Yeah, I'm definitely jealous. Things have warmed up here the past half week but not much is biting yet. Fished for a few hours Saturday and Sunday and managed just on 2lb pass and two small White Crappie. All of our favorite lagoons are heavily stained right now and visibility is leas than one foot. But the gators and pollen were abundant and in full force.

Thanks everyone. The water temp that day was 58 but has fallen since. A stretch of lows in the 30's isn't helping much.

That first fish weighed 4 lbs?

It looks like a bullhead and 4 lbs would be an insanely big bullhead.

It was 2oz shy of 4lbs. Strangely it's the first catfish I caught from this lake and Iv'e fished it for years.
