G. Loomis Expeditor Program

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I broke my GLX 854 today on a hook set so I am going to take advantage of the Expeditor program. I’m curios to know if you can upgrade through the program (GLX to NRX)?  The website doesn't address it either way as far as I can tell and they are closed for the weekend.

TIA

I don't think you can upgrade. I believe they switch you out for exactly what you have or comparable if that model is no longer available.

However I believe if you check out American Legacy Fishing you can run the Expeditor through them and potentially upgrade. Check out their website as this may be an option to do what you are requesting.

I'll do that.  Thank you!

Correct - I was told you cannot upgrade through G Loomis directly. Recently broke a brand new Mossyback rod (discontinued) and was given the IMX pro as a comparable replacement. Lucky for me it ended up being a slight upgrade anyways.

So it looks like with ALF you have to buy another rod of equal or lesser value and they give you the replacement rod for free.

I was hoping something more along the lines of paying a little extra to upgrade.  Something to think about either way.

I see so you are saying you'd have to buy an NRX through them and then they would get you your replacement rod too. Yah that would cost alot.

Or a GLX. You buy a new rod and it saves you the $100 replacement fee.

Loomis won’t let you upgrade. I remember seeing it on the warranty form when I sent one back last year. It’s a lot cheaper to mail them the rod than to use the Expeditor service. That’s what I did and they shipped me a new rod out the same day they received it.

I see my only option as the Expeditor deal. They charge me the $100 and ship the rod and I put the old rod in the new rod package and ship back.

Is is there a better option I’m not seeing?

There is just the regular warranty option also. If G Loomis determines the break was due to the rod being defective you will get a new one sent at no cost. If you broke off the rod tip in the car door or the rod locker that's when you use Expeditor when it's your fault.

It was definitely my fault. I meant to make that clear in the original post. I set the hook low into the side of my boat.

It happens. I've broken a few rod tips and I'm thankful for the Expeditor program.

It sure makes me feel a lot better about breaking an expensive rod.

The expeditor program is sweet! Broke an IMX high sticking a fish and had the replacement at my door 2 days later.

If my memory servers me, they send me a return label, and the new rod came in a tube to send the broken one back, and they had a return label to go back. So take that $100.00 and subtract the two postage’s and tube and that equals a bargain for a new rod. It’s been a long time since I send one in. Could of changed by now.

Didn't look at it that way but that is what I ended up doing.  Should have my new rod Wednesday.
