FLY FISHING LEGEND DIES

Saw this the other day.  Sad for his family, friends, and fans.  One of my favorite videos is Lefty doing double hauls on just the tip portion of a three piece rod!

Another great one gone.

He was a great guy and awesome casting teacher.  He was also a kind and caring individual behind a funny, cursing persona.  A guy I have fished with a few times was a friend of his.

I have some of his books and one of his casting videos.  I always wanted to get to meet him... he was one of the all-time great ones of fly fishing, for sure.

Tight lines,

Bob

I was lucky enough to win a raffle a hat signed by him and supposedly a fly rod he used to teach people with.

He lived a loooong life. RIP, Lefty.

First I've heard of his passing. Loved reading his books when I first started flyfishing and from everything I've heard it sounds like he was a great guy. RIP and thank you for the education.

One of the best.  An era draws to a close.
