reel cleaning in ma/snh

Featured Replies

have a couple reels i would like to have gone threw and cleaned, was hoping someone had some recomendations for where or who to go to. I'm located in northeastern ma/southern newhampshire and would prefer to do it local but could ship them if its a fast turn around.  My main concern is the worm gears need to be taken off and douched.  Also an estimate of how much it usualy costs to have a baitcaster gone threw and cleaned.  Thanks for the help.

I'm sure @Delaware Valley Tackle will be able to take care of you if you want to ship them.

Have you considered servicing them yourself? I know it seems a little daunting at first but it's not too bad. Worm gears admittedly require taking the reel almost completely apart depending on the design. Luckily the worm gear is somewhat serviceable without doing anything, if you have some of those small foam swabs you can use that to remove excess gunk and re-apply grease/oil (not both) without taking the reel apart, not as good as getting it serviced but is a nice thing to do mid-season.

I get $19.80 for cleaning from members here($22-10%). Turn around is an issue for everyone this time of year. Everyone is anxious. Email what you have and I'll  get back to you with an ETA

Could not be happier the DVT service. This Fall, all my reels find their way to him

The Tackle Trap in Alabama is an authorized Daiwa and Shimano service center. They service all brands of reels, both spinning and casting. Very good people to deal with.
