Daiwa Fuego reels

Thinking about buying a Daiwa Fuego bait casting reel that Cabelas has on sale right now. Anybody tried them out or have any info on them? Any info good or bad is appreciated.

They fish way better than their price implies. One of my favorites. Best reel under $100 in my opinion. I use one for super heavy cover pitching and it hasn't failed me yet.

There is no bad info on the Fuegos.  The Fuego CT and Tatula CT are the best reels you will find in their price range.  And the Cabela's sale price is a good price.  Same price as you can find them on ebay.  You won't be sorry.

They are my favorite casting reel. All my "serious" use reels are either Fuego CT's or the reel they seemingly replaced in the Daiwa line-up, the Exceler. They remind me alot of the "E" series Shimano Citica's and Curados, which were my favorite reels before I switched to Daiwa

Daiwa is really really knocking it out of the park on "budget"....IE sub $100 stuff lately. Since late last summer, I have replaced all my previous favorite low cost tackle (Abu, Berkley, and other Pure Fishing products) with Daiwa stuff.

I gotta agree. It seems that daiwa is hell-bent on getting some of the market back. They have really brought their game up with the current models. The thing is, anytime they make a reel that comes really close to shimano in quality and/or features they manage to blow it out a few bucks less. Chevy did it to Ford back in 2014.. now daiwa is trying to steal the show. The casitas is 90, the fuego is 70. The citica is 150, the tatula is 120. It's not that they're necessarily Lock Stock & Barrel better, but they are certainly striving for best value. JMHO.

If I was buying a reel in the price range I wouldn't hesitate on another Fuego.

I will also throw a vote for the fuego. I purchased the 8.1:1 recently and it's a solid reel for the money. Shimano makes a good reel too but I feel the fuego is the better reel over the casitas. YMMV.
