Northern Illinois smallie creeks

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of good smallie creeks in northern Illinois? Always wanted to catch one in creeks but never have.

The DuPage River (East Branch, West Branch and the main river) is a big creek but wadable it’s entire length. Hickory Creek where it runs through New Lenox is another but is mostly pretty small bass. Is there a reason you only mentioned creeks and not rivers?

@Bdnoble84 around Chicago burbs

Not familiar with streams in that area. I know the fax has some potential. Not sure on much else though

Lower Fox River from S. Elgin and on. Not seen any smallies in feeder creeks but have heard of them being there when high waters are present.

Wading is awesome with good population of smallies.
