She was a Bulbous 7.29 lbs or 7 lbs 4.64 ounces.

Basically a 1/2 goby short of 7-5

And my Personal Best.

It's been a while since I've looked at that pic. Every time I do I say to myself "she is just a freak of nature". From the picture she doesn't appear to be very long. Maybe it's because her belly is gigantic, or maybe she is on the shorter side? Either way what a beast, and she obviously likes to eat!

Here's a little experiment to think about for your next trip. Catch a smallmouth capture a picture, put it in the livewell for say 15, 30, or 60 minutes take it out and capture another picture and post the two pics for us to see the possible color change.

Thanks and you may be right on both accounts.

She was a Freak and 'short for her weight'.

And I hope she's still out there and making as many more freaks as she possibly can for years to come.

As for the live well deal, just watch the video's - it's fairly easy to spot.

Seems the smallies I display for the camera after a brief stay in 'the pool', look considerably more 'colored up' than the exhausted, 'I just fought for my life'  sort of bland versions,  held up fresh from the net.
