fixing eye insert an IROD Genesis 2

Featured Replies

I need some help. I had the top eye insert disappear on my punch rod. I have no recollection of seeing it fall off, but I noticed my braid fraying and just checked my guides and the top insert was eyeless. It is my punch rod, so I need it to hold up to the abuse, so how do I go about fixing this?

It might be easier to just replace it if it’s the top tip. I’d actually call them and ask them to send you one. In the mean time, you can buy a rod tip replacement kit so you can use the rod while waiting for it.

I just replaced the tip of my UL rod and it was easy. I’m not a rod builder so if I say it’s easy, then anyone can do it.

Call Matt at Irod. He may be able to send you a mew guide

Go to any local tackle shop. I do not mean Bass Pro or Cabelas but ant independant tackle shop. They will either have a guy that does this kind of repair or they know a guy.  I recently helped a member here find a shop near his home in TN and it cost him around $20 total.

You have to replace it. It's an easy fix though, even I can do it. There's no putting an insert back in after it falls out.
