hi guys! im new to the forum and was hoping someone can give me a hand with this. 

I recieved this boat for free, it saw the bottom of a lake and the owner posted first one to pick up takes it free of charge so i showed up at his door at 5am and im now rebuilding it, but i cant find a factory plate with the hulls info.

I found the HIN but it begins with QQQG Which doesn’t give me a manufactures name just says coast guard as manufacture.

Looks like there are registration numbers on the hull. The governing body that issued those numbers should have a record.

In Ontario with a bill of sale they give you new numbers hassle free. It’s all done online and you get your new registration # free in 5min unless the vin comes up stolen. I found the HIN# but that only told me it’s a 2005 and that the manufacture is the Canadian cost guard. Which is odd. I will try to call and see if they can find any info with the previous registration # thanks. 

Did you put that motor on it or was it on there when you pulled it up?  If it's the original motor get the numbers off of it and contact Mercury.  They will know what boat manufacturer it was shipped to.  If the motor isn't original start going through any other original equipment that was on the boat. 

 

Also, I don't know much about Canada, but it looks like the ICB (Insurance Bureau of Canada) is very similar to our NICB.  The ICB has a Theft division and if they are like the NICB they are the national experts on all things motorized that can be stolen.  Contact them with all the info you have and they may be able to decipher it for you.
