My friend caught a couple rainbows.   They must be recently stocked.  When he fileted them they had this white tumor looking thing in them.  Anyone encounter this before?   The fishes color was darker than the other ones he caught.

The meat of a stocker trout is usually light in color.

wild  trout usually have darker meat.

Eat it, you'll be fine...

Those large white things are the testicles. I know that sounds like a joke but it’s not 

Yepper, those are the male reproductive organs.  If it were a female those would be replaced by egg sacks.  

Gonads is what they said in fisheries class
