The carbon matrix drag is somewhat a hybrid system.  The drag washer between the drive shaft and main gear is Teflon while the others are Carbontex.  It doesn't really need to be upgraded, but you can always replace the Teflon washer with Carbontex for peace of mind.

I always upgrade abus to all carbontex.
