When trimming the skirt for a jig does the amount of skirt you trim off matter or is it all just personal preference?

Personal preference but I do not want the skirt so long that it interferes with the jig trailer.

There isn't a simple answer to this question.

What does a jig skirt do or what do you want it to do?

Silicone stranded skirt material is different from living rubber skirt material and both differ greatly from hair skirts.

if you are asking about silicone jig skirts the cut length after tie or fasting the skirt onto the jig for general use weedless jig used in a combination of cover and structure, the cut length is about 3/4" behind the hook bend.
