Has anyone fished with an Avid or Avid X 7mf and an Aetos or ETB 7MF, or something close?

 

Im intersted in the spinning and casting models.

I cant tell if everyone is sick of rod comparisons ( I know I know sorry) or if nobody fishes the Aetos line much. I know lots of guys use the Avids here.

I can't speak for the other but the St. Croix Avid 7 MF is a fine rod.  Great for light T-Rigged soft plastic and jigs.  You might be able to use for jerk baits as well. 

I can't speak to the particular Aetos rod you're referring to but,  I have a couple of the 7'2" MH XF casting rods that I use for bottom contact baits between 3/8 and 3/4 and they work great for me.  I have a few 6'8" MH (I forget the listen action) that I use for throwing spinnerbaits and other reaction baits and I'm happy with them for the most part.

 

All these rods are several years old and I'm not certain that they are included in the current Aetos lineup.  I've considered different Aetos spinning rods in the past but wasn't impressed with the handle at all, thought it was uncomfortable.

I own 3 of the SC blanks that you refer to. As for the Aetos, Fenwick's quality just doesn't compare to SC in my opinion. 

I own an Aetos and an Avid, but not the models that you mentioned. I agree that the Avid seems to have better workmanship, but I have only fished with it a few times to far. My Aetos is a baitcaster and the cork twist above the reel split on one of my first outings. Since I purchased the rod so cheap I decided to just wrap it in tape. I love the performance of the Aetos and would still buy one again. I am looking forward to using the Avid more soon.
