I have about 8 different brands and The Rod Condom is by far the best. They're dipped on both ends and don't fray, even after years of use. You'll never have a rod tip pop thru the end and break, which can happen on the ones when the ends are just folded over and sewn.

They're also really slim, which I really like on the baitcasting covers and not as much on the spinning rod covers. I still use them on spinning rods, but it takes an extra second or two to get the end of the cover over the largest guide. What's nice about the slim tip is that I'm able to really pack the rods in my box. The covers with floppy tips are harder to guide into a box packed with rods.

I just get the 'simple' ones. The 'custom' one have a piece of foam on the end, which I don't need or want to pay for.

I make my own. You can buy 100 ft roll of the sleeve material on ebay for around $25. A little heat shrink and a soldering iron to cut them with and ur in business. Cheaper and as many as i lose flying down the river every year it helps to know it was cheap and i can make another one when I get back home.

I like neoprene sleeves but the neoprene is noticeably heavier than mesh.  All the mesh sleeves basically use the same generic sleeve material that you can buy at Home Depot in bulk for dirt cheap, and they just cut and finish them.  If you don't mind getting your hands a little dirty there are YouTube videos that show you how to make them yourself, and you'll save a ton of money if you have a lot of rods to sleeve.

FWIW I'd recommend against Stick Jackets brand. I've got several that are falling apart.

The 6th sense ones are awesome. Pricy? Yeah. But that padded neoprene definitely keeps your rods as protected as they can be without the use of bubble wrap.
