Booyah frog set

Featured Replies

I just got a package of all the booyah frogs from DSG for $10. (booyah pad crasher, popping pad crasher, and pad crasher jr.) Which one should I use for different situations? Is there a certain time where the popping type is better, or where a smaller one is better?

Popping frog can sometimes work better when there is a little chop on the water.

Popping frog is my first go to, unless your fishing slop that won't let it pop properly

Thanks! I've heard they walk really well too. Is that true?

Popper in chop, regular in heavy slop, I don't use the Jr. often but find that whenever either I or the fish keep missing switching to the smaller one increases my hookups.

Agree.  Just to add to this; I tend to throw a smaller frog toward the end of the season when the lily pads are thinning out or if it's really bright/sunny and the vegetation is not really thick.  I suggest you trim the legs, especially on the smaller frogs.

I like the regular one in heavy slop, popper for fishing smaller clumps of grass or mats with lots of open holes and open water. The small one is a good option if they're seeing lots of regular sized frogs or striking at but not eating the bigger frogs.

For a popping frog should you still try to "walk" it or do more of a popping action with your rod, cupping the water and splashing it?
