Favorite Crankbait rod under $100

Featured Replies

I understand that there is already a thread about this but I wanted some more updated recommendations. What is a good all around crankbait rod for under $100, preferably around $80? I need it to be decent at throwing squarebills and medium divers. Maybe a few deep divers too.

I bought a Fenwick Lunkerstik which fits your budget. I like mine a lot. The MH should Do the trick...

I used a Falcon Jason christy cranking rod for a while and it was a good stick. I think they’re around $90 and you can usually find them at your local neighborhood Walmart if you want to handle it in person first.

Look around, you can find some used for that price. If not used spend a little more and go with the Fury CB.

Powell Inferno Medium or MH Moderate fast action-$100 brand new from tackle-warehouse

I've been using an Abu Vendetta 7' M for several years and I like it a lot.

I use 2 Dobyns Fury 705CB's for shallow to medium runners, and LOVE THEM!

BassPro has their crankin sticks on sale $20 off ($59-$79).  Fairly highly regarded on this forum.

Call Dobyns Rod Store...I literally just spoke to them yesterday and they have a refurbished Fury 705CB for $80 shipped to your door. The guy at Dobyns said it looked almost new and it comes with the same warranty as a new rod. You can't beat that deal!

Fenwick HMG 7'2" M-MF!! I use that for square bills and medium divers exclusively but my medium divers may be different than yours. For me 6' - 12' is a medium diver and that rods fits the bill perfectly. It is a medium but actually it is in between a medium and medium heavy. The rod is rated 3/8oz to 1oz but 1/4oz to 3/4oz works the best, the tip feels like a soft cranking rod but it transitions quickly into a solid backbone that is a little more stout than the typical medium. I don't know how the new version is but the old version I have is a killer rod for the price which was $99.00 even.

Any Dobyns 705cb you can get for the $$$.  Colt is sweet and a refurb Fury would be too.

I’ve looked at those on the site before and they always confused me. They’re called crankin sticks but the website describes all of their actions as fast or even extra fast.
