Fluke rigging...
I use a 4/0 super line EWG hook Texas rigged.

Kayak vs Jon boat
I have both a pedal kayak and 12 foot semi-v smokercraft. The boat is nice to bring people, however many of my friends own kayaks so we can still go together. I much prefer fishing out of my PDL yak, it is just fun. Get both.

Favorite Jerkbait???
I have 2 that I would recommend: 6th Sense Provoke in perch and MB 110 also in perch. I have caught more fish on the Zoom Super Fluke in bluegill flash. I have the KVDs too in perch that have caught a few.

Set up for weightless Senko's?
I throw a weightless Texas rigged senko on MH/F 6'10" rod with 10 lb flouro. For whacky rigging, I am usually skipping docks and use a MF 7' rod with 10 lb flouro.

Dedicated fluke combo - need rod suggestions
I throw them on a Shimano 6'10" MxF SLX with SLX reel. I also just got a 7' MR Tatula/Tatula SV TW, a little more expensive but nice combo.

Daiwa Tatula XT 7' MHR owners?
The glass rods work great for crankbaits, nice parabolic bend to pin fish.

Daiwa Tatula XT 7' MHR owners?
The XT in medium should work. I am partial to the Tatula though.

Fishing a Fluke - What Am I Doing Wrong?
I fish a Super Fluke using a 4/0 to 5/0 EWG hook. I cast it out, let it sink and twitch it. Does not take much to get it to dart, then let it die back to the bottom and repeat. I have caught a ton on bluegill flash, one of my most productive baits.

Oldest tackle
Here are some of my oldest lures. I have a bunch of old Shimano Bantam Magnum Lites and Lightening rods.

Scratches and Paint Chips on Equipment
I try to keep my reels from getting rash by using covers when traveling and for the rods, sleeves. Seems to work well, all of my stuff looks new.

Traveling and sleeping for early morning fishing
Excellent. Good luck, seems like a canopy is your best bet then. They make some nice ones.

Traveling and sleeping for early morning fishing
I have 3/4 ton. The pop ups w Not weigh 1,200. Not trying to argue, just facts.

Traveling and sleeping for early morning fishing
A 1/2 pickup should pull a boat no problem with a pop up. I pulled a full sized bassboat with my camper (which is much heavier than a pop up) anywhere I wanted without issues. The boat weighed nearly 4,000 pounds full of fuel and gear. My camper weighs 2,500 dry, 2,600 wet.

How many “main” setups do you have?
I don't bring every rod with me. I have several that are technique specific: Frog rod, Flipping rod, Swimbait rod, etc. I bring 3-5 depending on boat or kayak, sometimes 6 in the boat. 1 - MH/F casting 1 - M/F casting 1 - HF casting 1 - M/F spinning If I was going to a lake to frog fish, i would bring about 3 rods. Swimbaiting, 2-3 rods. I use a Cal Coast rod mule to transport my rods. I store my rods in a rod rack in a closet. I am working on building a locking locker in my garage since the wife wants the gear out of the closet.

Help me choose a rod brand
I really like Daiwa Tatula line of rods, great rods for the price. They are well balanced, sensitive, and very good quality. I prefer cork handles.

Swimbaits
The largest I use are the 4.8, but they make em up to 7.8.
