  1. I use 5.x mostly for deep cranking.
  2. I don't buy super high end gear ($300 max combo retail typically). What I do buy gets used since I am only going to live once, might as well enjoy the stuff. I take religious care of my stuff so it will last into retirement. I am 5 years away from that goal and hopefully made most of my expensive purchases now. I have spent thousands over the last 3 years on fishing gear/tackle/kayaks/small boat/motor, but I expect them to last a long long time. I have no debt except my houses, those will be consolidated to one and that one will be paid off.
  3. War Eagle makes a golden shiner spinnerbait.
  4. I keep fishing, time of day can change everthing
  5. The SLX works great for me, set the breaks and forget about it. Takes about 2 seconds.
  6. I use a 7.x gear ratio reel for throwing spinnerbaits/chatterbaits.
  7. I throw everything in my box, that is why I made the purchases. I have lost many lures, part of the deal I guess.
  8. Either will work. MH is nice general purpose.
  9. I just picked up a 6th Sense Catwalk and Speed Wake in Black Magic...
  10. I throw weightless senkos on a 7'1" MHxF Tatula with a Fuego CT. I used 10 lb Invisx. If I am skipping them under docks, whacky rigged, I go to a MF Tatula XT with Fuego LT 3000 using 8 lb YZ hybrid.
  11. the 10% applies to everything I believe, I know it works for the SLX combo.
  12. I have several SLX reels and have been very happy with them. I can't comment on the Lew's since I don't have that model. I have a Lew's Tournament MB which has been very good.
  13. 10 lb Maxima is my go to mono, YZ hybrid is right there with it.
  14. If you can find a Tatula that fits your needs, that is the rod I would get. The 6'10" MH is nice all-around rod.
  15. I have the Tatula 150 in 5 gear ratio, really nice cranking reel. I do a lot of deep crankbaiting and it is comfortable to use all day long - casting n crank.
  16. I was pretty set when all of this COIVD mess hit the country. I made most of my purchases black Friday to end of December 2019. I order most of the things for fishing online, the stores in my area don't cater to bass fishing (although there are a few mom/pop shops that do). Would love to get an Academy in the area.
  17. I use 8 lb YZ hybrid and 6 lb Invisx
  18. I use braid for heavy applications only: frogging and flipping (pitching too if heavy cover), no leader. Mono or flouro for everything else including spinning gear.
  19. I am using 10 or 12 pound invisx for deep cranking.
  20. I have the Tatula 6’10” MHF and Tatula SV TW 103, 7.3:1 that I use for baitcast skipping.
  21. Dollar store or Walmart plastic shoe boxes.
  22. I have 2 Arditos: casting and spinning. Fantastic rods.
  23. 7’ Tatula XT MF with Daiwa Fuego LT 3000. 8 lb Sufix Siege. I am planning an upgrade to Daiwa Tatula 7’ MF and Tatula LT 3000.
  24. That’s a fantastic rod. One of my favorites. I use it mostly for jigs and Texas rigs. I have used it for small glide baits - S-Waver 120. It would work for frogs too.
