I wouldn't even begin to try guessing without checking a LOT of other variables....weather (prior and during, including wind), what kind of water (lake, river, vegetation,  bottom, depths, docks, pads, tidal?, etc.),  if you can discuss with your boater, what are his/her plans?.....etc.  I usually don't decide which rods to take out of the truck until I'm putting them in the boat or kayak.

weather forecast for satuday is bluebird with temps in the high 50's with 5-10mph wind. the lake has decent amount of vegetation but i am not sure how much has grown this spring. my boater is an older gentleman who usually doesn't fish much deeper than 12-15ft of water.

I would take rods that are able to fish these lures:

Rod 1: 3/8 jigs (bottom, flipping and swimming)

Rod 2: spinnerbait, chatterbait

Rod 3: jerk bait

Rod 4: med cranks and lipless

Rod 5: ned, dropshot, shakey, small jerkbait

great minds think alike! my plan is ned rig/dropshot, jerkbait, jig/texasrig, wiggle wart, chatterbait

I may not start with these tied on, but I'd be able to throw a senko, rage bug on 1/8 weighted ewg, and a finesse jig, also

  • Super User
  • 6'6 medium light spinning 3" Senko
  • 7' medium spinning 5" Senko
  • 7' medium heavy casting 6" Senko
  • 7'2 medium heavy cranking Nose Weighted Senko
  • 7'3 heavy casting C-Rig Senko

Just kidding..........but I would be tempted.
