Top hook hudd or weedless

Featured Replies

Just bought two weedless 6" Huddleston on accident instead of top hook Baits. Do these hold up as well ? I'm new to the swimbait game but love the small 3.5" weedless aha swimbaits by huddle.

They hold up fine. If you decide to return them for whatever reason I'd suggest exchanging them for the 68 Special though, I've had more success with it than with the standard 6".

I'd rather have the weedless over the jighook version, especially in the 6" bait.

They're both 68 special weedless. Had two follows on a perch 6" regular no takers.

I fish both weedless and top hook.  I prefer the ROF 5 size in weedless as I swim this bait through weeds/cover.  The ROF 12 size I prefer in top hook as I fish this more like a jig dragging it on the bottom.

If you are fishing in or around cover then the weedless models are OK. You can easily add a size 1 treble hook via short flexible wire to the hook eye (Butch Brown rig) for more open or rocky water areas.

Follows just mean everything isn't just right, it's usually the bass activity level. When locate a follower go back in a few hours and try a different angle of approach.

The two follows were actually two 3.5+lb small mouth at the same time. Idk if I changed my retrieve up or what did it.

Difference between curious and feeding is timing.
