Lake of the Ozarks trip planned

Its several months away but the wife and I are planning to spend a week at LOZ this Sept . Is there an arm of the lake that sees less   pleasure boat traffic. I have a 22 foot Lowe but would like to avoid as many boat wakes as possible . If it was solely up to me ,  I would go some place else but the wife has never been there and wants to go .

Up the river is probably your best option to avoid the boat traffic. Way up the Osage and launch in Drake Harbor. There's some pretty good fishing up there at times too.

Also try the Big/Little Niangua arm.  After Labor Day weekend that area is very calm as well.  You should try Skyline Resort there.  They have 1-4 bedroom cabins, and covered dock space.  It's in the same cove as our lake house.  It's not bad for a place down on the lake.   I don't what their prices are like in the off-season, but probably pretty reasonable I bet.  I think this is their website www.skylineresortmo.com

I have only fished down at LOTO once so far, and it wasn't pretty.  But talking to a lot of guys who come in our cover to fish, they said that the Big/Little Niangua does have some decent bass numbers.

Thanks for the info . I will definitely check it out .

September does slow done a bit but the weekends are still busy. However, during the week in September you really don't have to worry about boat traffic. Away from Bagnell dam would be the least traffic but Sunday afternoon to Friday the lake is pretty quiet.
