Do you use the grease or oil inside the spool and gear for spinning reels? I saw a video where someone puts few drops of oil where the handle slot is as well.

 

I ended up putting the grease on everything. I'm not sure if I should have applied the oil instead.

    Grease=points of contact

    Oil= Spinning parts

    I put grease on my gears only and oil on everything else.

    Grease on gears only.  If you put it on everything it might effect the performance over time.  Oil on everything else.  Also, a little goes a long way.
