Curious if anyone uses a football jig with braid main line plus a FC or Co-Poly leader ? ... If so , what is your line set up ?

50lb daiwa j-braid

17lb sunline assassin

40lbs J Braid Grand 

15-20 P-line CFX fluoro Leader

30lb braid to a short 20lb fluoro. 

30lb Power Pro to 15lb McCoy or Seaguar Red Label. I like the Copoly more in water less than 6 feet.

40-50lb yellow Power Pro and 15 lb Big Game mono 8-10 foot leader.  FG knot always

What’s your reason for wanting a leader? 

Something to consider;

 

If you're fishing them in deep water, braid floats and is going to create somewhat of a bow in your line similar to when the wind is blowing hard, except towards the surface of the water. How severe will vary by depth, cast distance from boat, ect. 

25 yds big game mono to 75 yd 20lb fluro leader.

 

Football jig means no grass, no grass no braid.

Thanks for the replies - just looking at options being short a dedicated reel for football jigs . Ideally I would use #12 lb. AbrazX FC as a main line .
