   Problem was with the Stella. Same engineering team, I suspect. I hope my suspicions are unfounded. My 4 older Stradics are OK.      http://www.alanhawk.com/blog/fjw.html

Thanks for posting.  I was thinking you were talking about the Stradic FK, which I just bought a few months ago.  I looked up the price of a Stella; I don't think there's any danger of me buying one of the defective ones.

Looks nice, wonder when we'll see them in the states?

Me too!  Also, long cast spools have been around since the 80s.  They seem to come in and out of marketing fashion.  I've never felt they affect the cast good or bad.

Daiwa TD SS 1600 Long Cast is still being made after 30 years and has a tapered long spool. I know several local pro's who still use them. I put mine away after buying my son his (white) Stratic.

Maybe the new Stradic CI4+ will be white, that would be sick...
