Cabelas has them on sale locally for $279 starting Friday while supplies last. Comes with a 7 round and 8 round magazine. Worth it?

that is about what I paid for mine. It is a nice little carry gun.

Yes def worth it anything under $300.  The Shield has been the best overall value handgun for a decade now.

It appears to be the gen 1. The gen 2 will be on sale for $399 Which would you opt for?

I have the gen 1

The gen 2 has a little better trigger and pretty rough grips.  To me the grips were too coarse for a carry gun.

It catches a clothing a lot more.

Otherwise I don't think there is much difference.

Save the money and go Gen 1, but owning one, I may be a bit biased.  Definitely worth the money if you're looking to add a nice reliable concealable sized handgun to the lineup.  Definitely not picky on ammo, in my experience.

Definitely get one. Good price. If it's a late model Gen 1 the trigger is pretty close to the Gen 2. The stipling on the Gen 2 isn't worth the price increase.

Mine has been really good to me. 2 FTE in the first 2 mags with aluminum ammo, but now I am close to 3000 rounds with zero issues.

The break in can be a bit longer than most pistols. At 200 rounds my recoil spring assembly had to be replaced. Put lots of rounds through it. The slide lock release was like cement until the 700 round mark. The trigger, slide lock, and difficulty racking the slide get much better with use.

Very surprised how durable the finish has been with countless draws from a kydex holster. No rust issues with a regular wipe down of CLP, and a holster with a high sweat guard.

I have gen 1 as well. The $15 talon grips are a must have

I have a gen 1. My hands are huge so the Houge grip wrap was needed for the thing to fit my hand. Other than that it's been great. Trigger is fine for what it is. I shoot it good enough to defend my self if needed.

Depending on where you live, all day long.

Gen1.  Your body will adapt to trigger.....that isn't perfect.

Truth be told, if you don't have a lot to compare the trigger to, it's fine.  If you have had trigger work done on other weapons, you'll be disappointed

Plus they had an extra 10 percent off. Got it for 250

Take that $30 and buy a Maglula speed loader. Seriously it’s the best accessory on the market

Great deal.  I put Apex Tactical internals in mine and it has proven to be a very accurate little carry gun.

Buds gun shop has them on sale for $219 after rebate.

Great deal! Been my daily conceal carry for the past 3 yrs. If you find the right holster for you.....you’ll forget that your carrying.

I carry mine appendix style and during summer months in shorts and t-shirt and it doesn’t even show!
