Is there any Freshwater Fishing in Hawaii?

Recommended Posts

Is there any Freshwater Fishing in Hawaii?   Although I doubt I will ever see it.

Yeah, I know there is fishing 360 degrees around all the islands.   But that's the easy fast paced fishing.

I want to know about the serene side of fishing throughout Hawaii.

Are there any freshwater fishing spots in Hawaii?

I did do a quick search and came across these:

Kualapu'u Reservoir
Wahiawā Freshwater State Recreation Area

Is that it, or are there other "hidden spots"?

I don't know any spots either but I know that there's bass and also peacock bass. Don't know which island/s but I know they're available.

Thx, that's a good start.   It mentions some of the other fish found there.

I would like to find out more about the "freshwater streams".   Where, size, species, etc?

So far this give me hope for my dream lottery home.   lol

Nearly every golf course has ponds and connecting channels and a few reserviors that have Talopia and or largemouth bass on the islands Maui and Kawaii.

Keep in mind the locals eat what they catch this isn't a C & R fishery.

🤕 That's all I need, to worry about seniors driving golf cards, swinging clubs, hitting their balls at me.  lol

I'll stick to the lakes & reservoirs.   As for C&R, I'm fine either way.   Release the "too small or too big".

Thx guys, it seems like I will be able to survive there.    Now all I need are some "winning numbers" to get there.  lol

Fishing a golf course pond in Hawaii isn't any different then the lower 48, get permission and fish hours the course is closed. No snakes or poisionus insects on the islands.

If you want to live on the islands go, you will be Haole's.
