I bought a couple packs of these frogs a couple months ago.About a quarter of the time I cast it it would land upside down.I know Iam rigging them right because they come in a three pack with one of them prerigged.                                                                                                                                     I got disgusted and quit throwing them.I have decided to give them another chance.Anyone have a solution or is it something you have to live with?

not sure about which frogs you have but i have the zoom horny toard and use a hook made my zoom.  Its extra wide and has a screw on top to screw the frog on then hook through leaving the hook exposed but flat against the back to keep it weedless and it swims great.  I have had a lot of success with these frogs and hooks! http://www.***.com/descpageZOOMTERM-ZHTH.html  I have another brand but cant think of it right now that also works great.  Good luck!

Most frogs will land upside down a third of the time. Bass will srtike them both ways as long as the feet are kicking up water. Just think, the bass don't see the large hook when it's upside down ;D

yea either the way the bass dont care and there is no way to stop it and if its rigged weedless it'll still work

Take a weighted hook and rig the frog on it.  The weight keeps the belly down and will solve your problem.

If you are fisihing in open water, a little weight on the hook wont hurt it too much. You can get hooks with lead already molded on it, or you could take the center out of a rubber core sinker and pinch that on. I would stay around 1/16th of an ounce.

Try tube lead heads.  The hooks have lead molded slimly onto the hook so there is lead about 1/4th the way up the shank.  Never have tried frogs but that's the best thing i can think right now.  Good luck!

I used this Stanley weighted frog hook last weekend a a zoom horny toad...worked awesome!

I use Ribbit frogs and Gambler Cane Toads and I don't care about the hook. It catches fish both ways. I use a 4/0 heavy wire wide gap Gammy. I don't like the big frog hooks because my hookup numbers go way down when I fish with them. They seem to blow the bass's mouth open on the hookset. (Yes I do wait till I feel the fish.)

I use a 4/0 Gamakatsu for these frogs. The action seems to work fine and 75% of the time I'd say the frog lands/swims on its belly. But maybe im just lucky  .

you could take a tinsy splitshot and crimp it on the bend of your hook. or you could take a bigger splitshot (or lead airgun pellet) and smash it flat w/ a hammer so you have a thin lead "strip" and wrap that around the hook shank.

idk bout ya'll but i dont see why its such a big deal, either way it catches fish and runs the same

if you are fishin open water try a treble hook. your hook up ration is much better.

kb here   idont like the horny toad hook  i think it just comes in a 5/0 hook alittle big   but sure do like the groove inzoom horny toad usa a 1/8 oz weighted hook
