Gonna try some ned fishing this fall. Anyone got a good ned head they recommend? Certain size or weight I should go with? Spinning gear only? Thanks

My favorite is the Berkley half-head jig in 1/8 oz size.

If you want to fish a true Ned rig go super light, 1/15 or less! ?

The selections are rather mind blowing, aren't they?  

Only about three or four years ago it was nearly impossible to find a 1/8 gopher head with an elaztech-keeper.  I was krazy gluing 1/2 zinkers onto mushrooms.  Now, TW has about 100 choices.

Keep it simple -- 1/8 or less with a keeper like you see on z-man ned heads.  I like those zman heads well enough, but there's lots of others to try.  My biggest mistake was getting some bargain no-name heads a few years ago and the hooks on those straightened out when you looked at them funny.  

Get a few weedless and a few non-weedless.

Yes, I recommend spinning gear and light line.  

I just stick which what I can find locally, half head is good, as well as Zman shroom head. I like 1/15 or lower for TRD and 1/2 ZinkerZ. I normally pre-rig Zman with a drop of super glue, since you don’t really need to change plastic unless it got snag and lost the whole rig. I don’t use Zman plastic keeper becuz just one fish and would make your bait crooked.

I know they get a lot of grief, but I haven't had any trouble with the Z Man jigs.  I do like the Owner Block Heads better though.  They have a really nice hook.  Use the lightest one you can get away with.

I just got these and they are great for the big TRD but the head is a bit too big for the regular TRD imo.  

 

I have tried a lot of them and the owner blockhead has nice hooks but I don't like the shape of the head.

 

I think it's hard to beat the ZMAN Shroomz - the 1/20 oz head has worked great for me when paired with TRD worms or Ticklerz.
