The one lure fisherman

I have a friend who almost always fishes powertail worms.

In the lake that he fishes regularly, I can't say I blame him. I usually throw senkos in the milfoil and frogs.

there's old men around here that seriously do nothing but throw buzz baits and regularly take us all to the woodshed. No idea how they do it, but they do lol

Beware of the man with one gun, he probably knows how to shoot it.  Same goes with fishing lures.  When I was a kid I would go a whole summer with one lure.  One summer it was a River Runt I found on

It's me... I'm Frank.... I just want a jig, all the time.  Sometimes I pitch it, sometimes I swim it, sometimes I drag it but I don't see the point in throwing anything else.  Some days, I may catch more fish if I switch- but I don't.  Some days, the biggest fish in the lake might not want a jig-  That's okay, I'm not a competitive fisherman.  Over the years, I always caught the most fish on a jig and my biggest fish on the jig so I finally said- why fight it?  I carry a couple vibrating jigs for the off chance I really need to switch it up.

I’m the same way except with my senkos. Though I am thinking about adding jigs into my approach. I have the same attitude and approach as you though with not being a competitive fisherman.

Was this thread written by my wife? ?

I carry so many baits it completely dizzying when trying to decide on what to use sometimes. It is by far my biggest weakness.
My second biggest weakness is my willingness to change baits with so many aboard when the one I’m using isn’t working.

Ive tried paring down every year. Then somehow the boat gets filled up again.

I tell you it’s a sickness. A very expensive sickness.

I should be more like him. Very first bass I caught was on a weightless Zoom trick worm, Texas rigged. It's what I've caught the majority of my bass on. Whopper plopper closing in on second place.

Now if I could just figure how to throw a 10-12" worm with the same effectiveness of the trick worm, I'd be set.

My favorite spot has big fish; at night, it sounds like someone is throwing bowling balls into the water when they come up to eat. Just can't get em interested in what I throw.

Most likely, I just need to get out there at dawn or dusk. Until I can manage that, the drinks have my name on em.
