Help: Fuji Graphite Exposed Trigger & Palming

Featured Replies

I'm in need of some guidance. I just picked up a couple of Kistler Helium rods and they feel absolutely amazing. With that said, I am having one problem. I'm not the biggest guy out there and my hands struggle to palm my Steez CTSV because of the Fuji Graphite Exposed Trigger reel seat. I haven't had this rod for 24 hours and might just benefit from spending some time with it. With that said, do I have any options or work arounds? This is a medium light rod intended for finesse applications so I am putting a lot of value in the ability to palm the reel. Thanks for any input or suggestions.

I don' think that seat is any bigger than others, and don't think there is much to be gained from a different seat.  Additionally, replacing a seat with another is a major tear-up of the rod.  I certainly would spend a lot more time with them before I would consider tearing them up.

It seems that with palming, the biggest factor for comfort/ergonomics would be the reel, not the seat?  Is that upper reel bigger than the lower,or just a photography distortion?

That makes sense. Lower has a Steez CT SV and the upper has a 2020 Tatula SV TW. Definitely a sizable difference there. I just need some open water to get out on.

Reel will affect the height more than the reel seat. I have small girly hands myself and palm the reel so I know the struggle.
